Monique Parry

Monique Parry is a full time artist living in East Boothbay, Maine, and Gold Canyon, Arizona. Parry’s watercolor and oil paintings of flowers, still lifes, and gardens offer a fresh view of our everyday surroundings. In 1994-1995 Parry spent seven months in France, studying at Ecole Albert Defois in Les Cerqueux sous Passavant, and traveling and painting on location. Other art education includes workshops with Don Stone, Betty Lou Schlemn, Charles Reid, Frances Hodsdon and DeWitt Hardy. She has studied at the Scottsdale Artists School with Kim English, Joni Falk, Robert Johnson, and Sherrie McGraw, . Plein Air Workshops include Ireland with Donald Demers, California with Ray Roberts, Arizona with Skip Whitcomb, Ken Auster and Wm. Scott Jennings . Life drawing with the Rockport, Massachusetts, Art Association and other groups. Her paintings are found in numerous collections in the US and Great Britain.

Monique's paintings are the expression of a continuing search to find the beauty in the commonplace and to see elegance in the ordinary.  Her impeccable sense of color and light bring a lively realism to her work.  The large portraits of flowers and the intimate still life paintings are filled with a sense of joy and peace, reflecting the artist's philosophy.
